Project Description
This project involved the occupancy conversion of an existing 36,000 square foot factory building into a museum and sculpture garden for the New York City Department of Design and Construction. Bladykas Engineering designed new HVAC systems with stringent temperature and humidity controls, new fire sprinkler system and fire protection water service, new domestic water service and distribution, new fire alarm system and new Con Edison electric service and distribution. The museum was founded by the internationally renowned, Japanese-American artist Isamu Noguchi, who used the building to create his sculptures, architectural models and furniture designs.
