Providing high-tech cancer care in a comfortable outpatient setting presents a variety of design challenges. Bladykas Engineering was the mechanical, electrical and plumbing consultant for a 20,000 square foot Ambulatory Oncology Center housed in a multi-tenant office building in the Bronx. Engineering design services included new HVAC systems to support a USP 797-compliant pharmacy, which prepares compounded sterile chemotherapy medications. Other project work at this Montefiore Medical Center facility included new electrical power and emergency power that connected to the building’s electrical distribution system and generator, as well as fire alarm and fire sprinkler design.
