Project Description
Bladykas Engineering is proud as a member of the design team to have completed the construction of a $14 million pediatric emergency department at Good Samaritan Hospital. The 6,500 square foot modular expansion will serve the nearly 22,000 pediatric patients that rely on the hospital for treatment each year. The expansion includes 12 new treatment bays, two of which act as isolation rooms for critical pediatric care. The project was completed using modular construction enabling larger corridors and storage areas that will house the medical equipment crucial to the emergency department’s work. The entire expansion is comprised of 16 modular units, merged to form large exam rooms and sound-rated walls and doors that will allow for patient privacy. Because of the modular design, this project was authorized to continue throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the additional construction was built within budget and was even completed early! Good Samaritan Hospital was able to return to serving their pediatric patients ahead of schedule and nothing could highlight the importance of our work more effectively.
