Project Description
In this project, Bladykas Engineering was responsible for revamping the electrical systems of a 25,000-square-foot public library, which was previously an armory building for the Army National Guard. We handled the addition and renovation, introducing a new electric service and power distribution system, along with both interior and exterior lighting. A modern touch was added with lighting controls featuring relay panels, occupancy sensors, and timers to automate the control of the lighting systems.
Moreover, our team installed a new fire alarm and smoke detection system, and laid low voltage cabling for telephone, data, and security systems. The former armory’s drill room proved to be a perfect open-plan space for the library, with unobstructed clerestory windows allowing for an abundance of natural light to fill the area.
