The Reichert Family Imaging Center was constructed in vacant warehouse space in the Dolan Family Health Center. The radiology services offered at this 12,000 square foot outpatient facility include MRI scan, CT scan, digital X-ray, bone densitometry and comprehensive breast imaging services including 3-D mammogram, breast biopsy (ultrasound guided, MRI-guided and stereotactic) and breast ultrasound. The new MRI and CT equipment locations, which were dictated by vibration test results and the close proximity to the LIRR, necessitated the phased relocation of the existing main electric room. A second electric service was required due to the additional imaging equipment. The design also included all new MEP/FP systems for the project area, new exterior building and site lighting and a new diesel stand-by generator.
