Project Description
This project involved the removal of an existing 150 KW GM generator set and replacement with a new 350 KW generator that provides emergency power to life safety systems, critical branch loads and mechanical equipment at this 235-bed hospital. Bladykas Engineering designed a new emergency power distribution system, as well as a new fuel tank and day tank for the generator’s fuel supply. The design included an external disconnect switch, which allows a portable generator to be connected into the emergency power distribution system in the event of a generator failure. Phased construction enabled the use of a temporary generator, so that the facility could remain in service.
