For the Kingsbridge Heights Rehabilitation Center, an established skilled nursing facility nestled in the Bronx, NY, Bladykas Engineering was tapped to lead a comprehensive gut rehabilitation project. As a subconsultant to John W. Baumgarten Architect, P.C., our expert team provided a full suite of engineering services, including mechanical, electrical (covering both normal and emergency power), lighting, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, and nurse call engineering design services. Our meticulous approach began with a thorough review of existing drawings, followed by a detailed survey of the facility’s current systems to confirm their conditions. Recognizing the importance of maintaining the facility’s full operability during the renovation, our design incorporated a phased construction approach. Each phase was meticulously coordinated with the facility to ensure a seamless transition during the decanting of existing spaces, thereby preventing any disruption to the center’s vital services. Throughout the project’s duration, we offered unwavering support and construction phase services to facilitate a smooth and successful rehabilitation.
