Project Description

PS 28X also known as the Mount Hope School was originally constructed in 1897 with an addition added in 1905. The scope of this project was to replace the existing fire alarm system with a new, addressable fire alarm system, including manual pull stations, smoke detectors, heat detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Strobe lights were added to all classrooms and other public spaces for ADA compliance. The fire alarm system was interlocked with existing air handlers, boilers and the kitchen range hood fire suppression system. The work was phased to ensure the new system was on line and approved by FDNY before the old fire alarm system was removed, allowing the building to remain occupied during the construction.
