Project Description

Hurricane Sandy caused flooding in and around PS 195Q located in Rosedale, Queens. The flood waters damaged the boilers, electric service and distribution equipment, as well as causing structural damage to the building’s crawl space. Bladykas Engineering was the prime consultant to replace the boilers and heating plant, replace the main electric switchgear, and to dry-flood proof the Cellar. The boiler plant included two (2) field errected 199 Boiler Horsepower low pressure steam boilers with a new high pressure gas service. Backwater check valves were installed in the sanitary and storm outfalls to prevent water from backing up through the piping system.
